PRESS: Rosseti may not get control over Crimean grids
MOSCOW, Dec 11 (PRIME) -- Russian power grid holding Rosseti will unlikely receive control over Crimean power grids due to sanctions risks, Kommersant business daily reported Monday citing sources.
Rosseti was earlier expected to become the key shareholder of a new joint-stock company Krymenergo that will manage all power grids on the peninsula that are currently being built or modernized. But the Energy Ministry is currently considering an alternative shareholder structure of Krymenergo, under which regional and federal government authorities can enter the united state company on a parity basis. This option does not imply participation of Rosseti, Kommersant said.
“The scheme will be adopted if the government decides that sanctions risks for Rosseti are significant,” a source told the daily. Another source said this scenario was a priority and was developed during several months due to possible negative economic consequences and risks for Rosseti.
